Do you ever wish the world's pendulum could just swing in the middle?
Believe it or not, most people are sort of in between. I know that news sources and social media, in particular, with their algorithms, make it seem like people are either far left or far right. When that just isn't the case. Your algorithm influences taste and preference, so that is what you end up seeing.
But in reality, most people meet in the middle.
As the pendulum swings back and forth, our current world has ended up upside down. Lying is considered a leadership quality, and hate and misogyny now rest openly among the free spirits instead of in the darkness and shadows where it once resided.
Social media started as a free-for-all. Nudity was acceptable, and even streaming sex acts, as there was no concept of community rules or guidelines. And now, as the pendulum swings back the other way, we now have content warnings placed on our posts for things as ridiculous as armpits and people wearing booty shorts.

Don't misunderstand what I'm saying here. I do support content warnings.
However, I don't support content warnings on content that doesn't fit it, but because it's not actual people who are inspecting these posts on various social media outlets, but rather AI, content and community guidelines are subjective and up for debate, or in this case, an appeal. But do you ever really win appeals?
I never have.
Appeals aren't meant to be an actual thing, but more of a PR stunt on the concept of due process and fair practicing. Liability falls on the site, not the individual. So, the platform would rather be overprotective rather than under. This is easy to understand from a business perspective. And that's what social media is, business. Big business.
I contend and can make an argumentative case for, that the glory days of social media are far behind us. Social media was best when it was virtually an unknown. Today's social media is nothing more than fantasy and exotic videos designed to get follows and likes. There's no rhyme or reason behind social media other than attention and status.
Was there anything better than Myspace or early Facebook? What about AOL or old school Tumblr?
Much like everything in life, big business and money have destroyed it. Social media was once a prized gem. Innovative and a stand alone. Now, it's a series of content warnings, ads, and basic famous people.

Greetings folks! when you talk about tech so much its an inescapable fact that you're gonna came across into dystopic and unethical things eventually.. But what is it? a human genome experiment? or a implant that suppresses the mind and fills it with false memories.. which one is sounds more far fetch? meet Project COGNIFY!
a prison system that can suppresses the perpetrator's mind and fills it with victım's and their family's horror, grief and hatred for the criminal with ai generated memories!
Look, i know how does it sounds but this thing is real been researched, built and proposed already.. and about to implement on many prisons around the globe which who agrees to this "alternative" method..
in theory. our neural system accepts reality by its senses around by organs we have like eyes, nose, skin, ears, tongue etc. this project is twists our envoirmental vision by VR, excessive headphones and short term electrical zaps.

prisoners would be subjected to artificial memories in a virtual environment. The system creates customized AI-generated content that’s converted to visual information and delivered to the prisoner’s brain as well as the parts of their DNA and RNA linked to memory formation to establish a long term memory pattern -engadget
OK!! I know thats way too much to handle but before that how did we get here in the first place?
cognify project was started by an yemenian biologist and scientist Hashem Al-Ghaili.. before this stage this project was used for psychedelic tests like testing base cognitive functions and such by giving patients to play specifically crafted games. for most of the cases this idea was a success at the time most of the patients show improvement getting better at controlling their muscle system and most of the hospitals around the globe was adopted this methods at the time. around 2016 to 2023 they announced series of progress reports about the results and its effects (this separation is kinda necessary in this situation)
at first psychedelic research were only in health industry and getting more companize this idea before covid but after covid and home office era some companies were started to find more progressive ways to improve their workhaul and needless to say these guys offered a "solution!"
first: gamify the interview and casting process with more interactive hr system and give the candidate more *special* feeling
second: surveillance the behaviors of the person against a problem and acts against the both coworkers and menagers through the live meetings
third: reward the smarter and progressive ones with more break time and more interactive and interesting contents in online world which encourages people more brainstorming to creating more generative ideas and also more payroll! And the rest.. just, get rid of them!
four: repeat the process!
in the end et voila! you have a company full of superminds! i mean.. it is effective but..
While the technology is effective, it raises significant ethical questions. Is it humane to manipulate memories? What are the long-term psychological effects? The potential for abuse and the moral implications of artificially altering a person's mind are profound. Safeguards and ethical guidelines are crucial to ensure the technology is used responsibly.
now lets take a step back and return to our prison system for a moment shall we?
with this knowledge cognify company did menage to learn how to use envoirmental elements to manipulate minds and desicions..
at first stage its been proposed for 10+ year sentenced prisoners as "do you want to fullfill your whole of your sentence in 10 minutes?"
who would'nt right? :)
if prisoner or tester would agrees they put the headset and the glasses and connect bunch of electrodes onto head and upper arm area with that way while their ai model is generates event based videostream starts to play while the tester continues to watch these videos minor electroshocks starts to given to different parts of neural system and by that way mind can be manipulated as these external video stream slowly becomes recognising as actual memories
And finally looking ahead, Project COGNIFY might evolve to address other applications beyond the prison system. Potential future developments could include therapeutic uses for trauma victims or advanced cognitive training programs. However, the ethical landscape must be navigated carefully to prevent misuse.

Facebook Policy Playbook
Preserving digital privacy and understanding the digital landscape of popular platforms like Facebook has become essential for responsible virtual citizens and tech-aware individuals. Today's discussion on Facebook's data collection practices was incredibly eye-opening. We watched an informative video that shed light on the various types of data that the platform gathers - explicit data we provide, metadata about our activity, information from third-party sources, and even off-Facebook online activity through tracking pixels and plugins on other websites.
The video provided some wise advice on limiting the platform's access to our personal data by regularly reviewing and tightening privacy settings, being cautious about sharing sensitive information publicly, and being wary of scams and phishing attempts aimed at extracting login credentials. Ultimately, the professor rightly emphasized that "privacy only comes to those who work for it" and that we must remain proactive about safeguarding our digital footprints.
I applied this learning in the creation of my social media policy, a learning evidence output that is a deliverable for this course. Mine so happens to be Facebook, and the content summarized the best practices for responsible platform use. Developing these guidelines forced me to think critically about online privacy, security, and ethical conduct.
Personally, crafting a balanced policy that protected user privacy while still enabling the core social functionality of Facebook was quite challenging. Eventually, I decided to aim to empower users with knowledge and tools to make well-informed choices that align with their personal privacy preferences. I advocated for clear, straightforward language and a fun visual layout to maximize accessibility and engagement.
Notably, I stressed the importance of the platform being transparent about its data collection practices - an issue highlighted in today's lesson that currently needs to be addressed. I also appropriately tackled on the definition of digital citizenship and respectful conduct without being overly restrictive.
Creating these guidelines hands-on brought the risks and nuances of the digital world into sharp focus and solidified my learnings from this session. I now have a deeper appreciation for thoughtfully upholding ethics as a virtual citizen and potential future tech developer. As the line between our digital and tangible realities continues blurring, thoughtfully navigating through these risks and nuances is essential for protecting our privacy and rights moving forward.

Entering the Third Dimension: What Developers Need to Know About Apple's visionOS and Spatial Apps

The launch of Apple Vision Pro, powered by visionOS, marks a monumental shift in how we interact with technology. It's not just a new device; it's the dawn of spatial computing, a paradigm where digital content seamlessly blends with our physical world. For developers, this isn't merely an upgrade to an existing platform; it's an entirely new canvas, demanding a fresh perspective on design, interaction, and user experience.
If you're a developer eyeing this revolutionary platform, here's a deep dive into what you need to know about visionOS and building spatial mobile apps.
The Foundation of Spatial Computing: visionOS
At its core, visionOS is built upon the familiar foundations of macOS, iOS, and iPadOS, yet it introduces unique concepts tailored for a three-dimensional environment. This means developers can leverage their existing Swift and SwiftUI knowledge, but must also embrace new frameworks and design principles to truly harness the power of spatial computing.
Key Concepts in visionOS:
Windows: These are the familiar 2D interfaces, similar to those on a Mac or iPad, but with the added dimension of depth. They can contain traditional SwiftUI views and controls and can be freely positioned and resized by the user in their physical space.
Volumes: Going a step beyond windows, volumes are 3D SwiftUI scenes that can showcase three-dimensional content. Think of them as interactive dioramas that users can view from any angle, either within the shared space alongside other apps or in a dedicated "Full Space."
Spaces (Shared and Full):
Shared Space: The default environment where multiple visionOS apps coexist side-by-side, much like apps on a desktop. Users can arrange windows and volumes as they please.
Full Space: For truly immersive experiences, an app can transition into a Full Space, where it becomes the sole focus. Here, developers can create unbounded 3D content, virtual environments (portals), or even fully immerse the user in a different world.
Immersion Levels: visionOS offers a spectrum of immersion, allowing developers to choose the right level for their content. From windowed, UI-centric experiences to fully immersive virtual worlds, the platform encourages thoughtful design that prioritizes user comfort and engagement.
The Developer's Toolkit
Apple has provided a robust set of tools to help developers navigate this new frontier:
Xcode: As with all Apple platforms, Xcode is your integrated development environment (IDE). It includes the visionOS SDK, simulators, debugging tools, and project management capabilities.
SwiftUI: This modern, declarative UI framework is central to visionOS development. It allows you to build mobile app interfaces that adapt gracefully to different immersion levels and interactions.
RealityKit: The powerhouse for 3D content. RealityKit enables you to create, manage, and animate 3D objects and scenes within your spatial apps. It handles rendering, physics, and spatial audio, making it easier to bring your virtual worlds to life.
Reality Composer Pro: This companion tool, integrated with Xcode, is essential for designing and preparing 3D content for your visionOS apps. You can import models, create animations, set up materials, and preview your scenes directly within Reality Composer Pro.
Unity: For developers with existing Unity projects or those who prefer its powerful 3D authoring tools, Unity provides robust integration with visionOS, allowing access to features like passthrough and Dynamically Foveated Rendering.
ARKit: While RealityKit handles the rendering of 3D content, ARKit is crucial for understanding the real world. It enables capabilities like scene reconstruction (identifying surfaces), plane detection, and hand tracking, allowing your virtual content to interact realistically with the user's environment.
Designing for a Spatial World: Human Interface Guidelines
Building for visionOS goes beyond just technical implementation; it demands a fundamental shift in design thinking. The Human Interface Guidelines (HIG) for visionOS emphasize user comfort, intuitive interaction, and seamless immersion.
Key Design Principles:
Eye and Hand Interactions: The primary input methods are eye gaze (for targeting and selection) and indirect hand gestures (for activation). Direct touch is also supported for close-range interactions. Developers must design controls that are easily targetable with the eyes and comfortably activatable with subtle hand movements.
Comfort and Ergonomics: Content should be displayed within the user's natural field of view, minimizing head and body movement. Avoid rapid, jarring motion or content that forces the user to constantly shift their focus. Prioritize experiences that allow users to remain relaxed and at rest.
Spatial Audio: Leveraging the Vision Pro's advanced spatial audio capabilities is crucial for creating truly immersive experiences. Sounds should be positioned realistically in 3D space, enhancing the feeling of presence and providing important cues.
Dynamic Scaling: Windows and UI elements dynamically scale as users move them closer or further away, ensuring legibility and usability at various distances.
Accessibility: As with all Apple platforms, visionOS emphasizes accessibility. Developers should support features like Dynamic Type, provide alternatives to gestures, and ensure controls are adequately sized and spaced.
Challenges and Opportunities for Developers
While the potential of spatial computing is immense, developers will face unique challenges:
New Design Paradigms: Shifting from 2D flat screens to a 3D spatial canvas requires a new way of thinking about UI, UX, and information architecture.
Performance Optimization: Maintaining a smooth, high-fidelity experience in a 3D environment is computationally intensive. Developers must optimize their apps for performance, paying close attention to frame rates (targeting 90 FPS), power consumption, and efficient rendering.
Content Creation: Developing compelling 3D assets and environments can be complex and time-consuming. Proficiency with tools like Reality Composer Pro, Unity, or other 3D modeling software will be crucial.
User Comfort and Cybersickness: Ensuring a comfortable experience and mitigating cybersickness (motion sickness in virtual environments) is paramount. This involves careful consideration of motion, camera movement, and visual stimulation.
Limited API Options (Early Stages): While the SDK is robust, it's a new platform, and certain advanced functionalities might still be evolving or have limited API access compared to mature platforms.
Smaller Audience (Initial Phase): The Vision Pro is a premium device, meaning the initial user base will be smaller than for iPhones or iPads. Developers must weigh this against the potential for innovation and early market leadership.
However, these challenges come with immense opportunities:
Pioneering New Experiences: Developers have the chance to define what spatial computing truly means, creating entirely new categories of apps and experiences that are impossible on traditional devices.
Enhanced Engagement: Spatial apps offer a deeper level of immersion and engagement, allowing users to interact with content in a more natural and intuitive way.
Revolutionizing Industries: From education and healthcare to entertainment and productivity, spatial computing has the potential to transform numerous industries. Imagine surgical training with realistic 3D models, collaborative design sessions in shared virtual spaces, or truly immersive storytelling.
Early Adopter Advantage: Developers who invest in visionOS now can establish themselves as leaders in this emerging field, gaining valuable experience and insights as the platform evolves.
Moving Forward: Building the Future
Apple's visionOS and the Apple Vision Pro represent a significant leap towards a future where digital and physical realities seamlessly merge. For developers, this is an invitation to innovate, to break free from the constraints of traditional screens, and to create experiences that truly transport and empower users.
The journey into spatial computing will require a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and a deep understanding of human interaction in three dimensions. By embracing the unique capabilities of visionOS and adhering to thoughtful design principles, developers can play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of computing. The future is spatial, and the time for developers to build it is now.

In the recent years, trends have emerged in the healthcare management industry, which includes patient protection, social media in healthcare, and drug shortages. Patient protection has largely been influenced by laws and policies in different nations. In the United States, the enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) has resulted in the lowering of overall healthcare costs, whereby millions of individuals have access to insurance, thereby guaranteeing free preventative care. Social media in healthcare has stemmed from the increased use and adoption of the technology for health-related reasons by patients as well as healthcare practitioners. Moreover, drug shortages have emerged as a challenge that hospital pharmacists encounter and manage in different measures on a daily basis. The paper explores the trends in the three aspects as they relate to the healthcare management industry. Furthermore, it focuses on drug shortages as the topmost priority. Social Media in Healthcare Nowadays, patients and healthcare practitioners employ social media in different ways. The available tools in these platforms include media-sharing sites, blogs, as well as gaming and virtual reality environments (Antheunis, Tates, & Nieboer, 2013). Furthermore, Facebook posts and tweets have become approaches that healthcare authorities and patients have adopted in communication. Practitioners in the field have engaged these platforms in encouraging patient engagement and advocating for the dissemination of accurate health information. It is also critical to note that social media has downsides concerning the creation of damage to professional images, legal issues, as well as the spreading of poor-quality information among others. Therefore, most of the professional bodies and healthcare institutions have provided guidelines, which endeavor to counter these risks. Trends in social media in the healthcare management industry include social networking sites. The evolving social networking environment has provided a platform where professional medical communities have engaged on different issues. Besides, these systems have also provided secure access for members while blocking nonmembers from accessing critical areas. Furthermore, they have been funded through research funding, professional associations, as well as advertising revenues as seen from Sermo and Doximity, which are restricted to the physicians' network community. Moreover, the Medical Directors Forum allows medical directors to engage in a peer-to-peer interaction within a secure and verified environment. Undergraduate students and practicing physicians have interacted through sites such as the Student Doctor Network. Microblogs have emerged as dynamic approaches of information exchange whereby users post considerable amounts of brief messages over a short period. For example, Twitter has allowed students and instructors to share on different issues such as evaluation of class responses and monitoring of student progress. Media-sharing sites have enabled users to view, share, and upload digital content on the Web. For example, YouTube has provided a resourceful platform that has availed educational materials, medical news, and healthcare-related entertainment (Gagnon & Sabus, 2015). Besides, virtual reality and gaming environments have become useful in educational centers that attempt to influence the decision-making abilities of individuals in real-life. Besides, they have become critical in applications such as psychiatric treatment and surgical stimulation. Therefore, social media in healthcare management remains instrumental in dealing with the dynamic challenges that arise every day. Patient Protection The enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) envisaged multiple changes in the healthcare management industry. Millions have consequently benefited from accessing insurance, which they previously did not have an opportunity to enjoy. Moreover, the Act has made sure that the entire insurance plans cover the ten critical health welfares including, treatment for chronic and addiction issues (Maga & Lewis, 2014). Young adults have been guaranteed to stay within the insurance plans of their parents until the age of 26. The policy ensures that a majority of uninsured young people are covered, thereby improving their quality of wellbeing. Therefore, these benefits among others have been guaranteed by the Act, thereby increasing the level of patient protection in the long-term. Other regions such Europe have formulated policies meant to advance the use of health-related data that would considerably benefit patients and the healthcare fraternity. They have focused on improving the level of scrutiny of clinical data, thereby aiding the understanding of diseases and other complications as well as the development of therapies (Groves, Kayyali, Knott, & Kuiken, 2016). Furthermore, the policies foster the adaptation to modern health systems. One of these policies has been data protection regulation. The policy has focused on supervising the use of ‘big data.’ Consequently, the analysis of such levels of information contributes to improving the quality of healthcare of patients. Drug Shortage Becoming a Top Priority Drug shortages have remained a challenging issue facing hospital pharmacists. In this section, the paper focuses on the trends on this matter. Prolonged shortages remain essential in this discussion. It is critical to note that despite the decreasing rates of new shortages, these problems are still hanging around. Thus, patients are still facing the consequences of such challenges. In the recent years, current shortages have nearly remained constant for the apex drug categories including, cardiovascular agents, antibiotics, as well as electrolytes among others (Fox, Sweet, & Jensen, 2014). Besides, other drug classes have stayed vulnerable to shortages. They include morphine, naloxone, dextrose, and fentanyl just to mention a number. Consequently, patients are still at risk of prolonged shortages of different drugs. Complex challenges have emerged as an important trend in the drug shortage matter. The problem remains multifaceted as no single reason could explain its occurrence. Besides, the issue affects other nations across the globe, not only the United States. Popular myths have linked drug shortages to limited availability of raw materials (McLaughlin & Skoglund, 2015). In addition, some people have claimed that outsourcing is the leading cause of the problem. On the contrary, most of the drug manufacturing factories are located in the United States. In most cases, challenges could arise from supply shortages by different companies causing the problem. Besides, few businesses provide essential drugs for patients. As a result, an issue happening in one of the firms would cause a rippling effect on the pharmaceutical market. The availability of the Web emerges as another significant trend in the drug shortage issue. Nowadays, online platforms have ensured pharmacists gain knowledge on this problem. The availability of such information on web platforms has facilitated increased awareness of the problem. In fact, online resources have ensured that healthcare practitioners discuss strategies for dealing with the issue comprehensively. Besides, the platforms inform pharmacists on how they could access different products and drugs to meet patient needs. The use of mobile applications has also come in handy in improving access to drug shortage information. Most of these platforms have allowed the search of drugs or their ingredients. Consequently, suspected shortages could be reported to relevant authorities. Therefore, online resources remain critical in addressing drug shortage issues. Conclusion Nowadays, trends in the healthcare management industry remain relevant as they pose different impacts on patients and medical practitioners. It is important to acknowledge the positive and negative influences of social media in this field. For the most part, these platforms have improved information exchange among different professions. Besides, patient protection has remained a critical aspect among the various governments focused on improving the well-being of populations. In contrast, drug shortages have continued to stay as challenges that require a multifaceted approach to counter them. Overall, these trends influence the healthcare management industry in positive and negative ways. References Antheunis, M. L., Tates, K., & Nieboer, T. E. (2013).
